The eleventh issue of PAHAL highlights the efforts of the Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP), with support from UP TSU, in converting challenges into health benefits. This includes adopting a strengthened methodology for public health denominators for better resource allocation, planning and monitoring. The issue also throws light on the GoUP Nurse Mentors’ training at the newly developed skills labs and some key digital health and family planning interventions.
Family planning improves health, reduces poverty, increases educational and employment opportunities and empowers women and couples to lead a better quality of life. This implementation note details the conceptualization and implementation of a series of activities designed and rolled out since July 2017 to introduce and improve the availability and utilization of these two new contraceptives, Antara and Chhaya, in Uttar Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh COVID-19 Unified Data Platform was developed and implemented as the state’s digital response to the pandemic. This comprehensive platform brought together all the public and private stakeholders engaged in the state’s COVID-19 health response, thus ensuring that the State has a single point of truth with respect to the pandemic management.
PAHAL Issue ten captures some of the key interventions of the Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) supported by UP TSU. This includes, capacity building of stakeholders to treat pediatric population as a preparation to Covid-19 pandemic. It has also covered short studies related to reasons for homebirth in Balrampur, tracking GoUP’s family planning program and understanding exposure to SARS-CoV-2 infection in Uttar Pradesh.
