The Institute of Global Public Health (IGPH), University of Manitoba (UoM) partners with IHAT to implement its RMNCH+A program in Uttar Pradesh and provides advisory support to IHAT’s other programs. The UoM is western Canada’s first university, established in 1877. The IGPH was established within the Department of Community Health Sciences in 2008 to enhance the UoM’s leadership in global public health. The focus of IGPH is to generate and translate knowledge to improve the impact of public health programs, particularly for vulnerable populations in various global contexts, including Canada. Over the past several years the IGPH has been highly successful in establishing important public health programs in diverse global contexts, having successfully conducted research and program development in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.
