About IHAT:

India Health Action Trust was instituted in 2003 as a Charitable Trust with a vision to meaningfully impact the lives of vulnerable and marginalised people by addressing health and social inequities. The Trust is working towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programmes to improve population health. Since its inception, IHAT has been working closely with the Government of India and state governments, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Delhi and Maharashtra to achieve public health goals. Our work is focused in areas of prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. We use program science to optimise and scale public health programs while partnering with the governments and communities.

Job Summary :

India Health Action Trust (IHAT) is providing Technical support to the UP State TB programme in the area of Diagnostic Network Optimization, Integration of TB in Primary Health Care, Private Sector Engagement and also in the Multisector Engagement. A qualitative study titled “The Intersection of Tuberculosis, Menstrual Health, and Mental Well-being Among Adolescent Girls in Selected District of Uttar Pradesh””. To support the implementation of this study, IHAT is recruiting a Research Associate who will be based in Lucknow. The Research Associate will anchor the study and provide technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Associate will serve as the primary coordinator for study implementation and will supervise Field Investigators throughout the study. The position will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, field planning, quality assurance, data management, analysis, documentation, and dissemination of study findings 

• Lead day-to-day implementation of the study in coordination with the Principal Investigator.
• Supervise and mentor Field Investigators throughout the study period.
• Develop detailed implementation plans, timelines, and fieldwork schedules
• Lead coding, thematic analysis, and interpretation of qualitative findings.
• Develop coding frameworks and analytical matrices.
• Synthesize findings across participant groups and stakeholder categories.
• Identify emerging themes and actionable programmatic insights
• Lead preparation of:
  1. Inception Report
  2. Fieldwork Completion Report
  3. Data Analysis Report
  4. Draft and Final Study Report
  5. Policy Briefs
  6. Manuscripts and conference abstracts
  7. Lead preparation of:

Work Experience:

1. 3-4 years of experience in qualitative research and field-based studies.
2. Experience working with adolescents and sensitive topics such as health, gender, mental health, or TB.
3. Strong qualitative research and documentation skills.
4. Proficiency in English and Hindi

Education:

Master’s degree in Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Anthropology, Gender Studies, or related disciplines.
