The 31st issue of PAHAL showcases UP TSU’s continued support to the Government of Uttar Pradesh in strengthening public health systems through evidence-based interventions, capacity building and locally driven innovations. Covering July to September 2026, this edition highlights initiatives aimed at improving maternal and newborn care, strengthening healthcare delivery and enhancing access to quality health and nutrition services across the State.
A key highlight is the national launch of the Samagra Shishu Bal Swasthya Karyakram, for which UP TSU supported the development of operational guidance and communication materials. The issue also features the introduction of nutritionally upgraded Take-Home Ration, efforts to strengthen maternal anaemia management, and initiatives to improve emergency obstetric care and newborn health services.
The newsletter presents findings from assessments of maternal anaemia services and family planning interventions, providing insights to inform programme planning and service delivery. It also highlights district-led initiatives demonstrating how improved referral coordination, clinical mentoring, frontline worker training and community engagement are helping address gaps in maternal and newborn healthcare. These experiences reflect the importance of practical, context-specific solutions in strengthening service delivery at the facility and community levels. The issue also captures efforts to improve tuberculosis detection, strengthen continuity of care and build the capacities of healthcare providers.
Collectively, the featured stories show how sustained technical support, evidence-informed planning, and collaboration with government institutions are contributing to stronger, more responsive public health systems. They reaffirm UP TSU’s commitment to supporting the Government of Uttar Pradesh in translating programme priorities into practical improvements in healthcare delivery and health outcomes.
