India Health Action Trust (IHAT) works towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programs to improve population health. We work closely with the Government of India and state governments to achieve its public health goals. Our work is focused on areas of prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive Maternal Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. Our work is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
We set up multiple Technical Support Units (TSU) for the Governments of Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Delhi and an Innovation Hub in Madhya Pradesh to provide techno-managerial assistance and coordinate with the Governments, Non-Government Agencies, Academic Institutions, and Communities.
IHAT in partnership with the University of Manitoba, Canada has set up the Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit (UP TSU) in 2013 to provide techno-managerial support to the Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) pursuant to the Memorandum of Cooperation between the GoUP and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The technical areas of support includes strengthening its Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) and Nutrition programs.
Public Health Specialist or Designated person
This position require extensive travel across the project implementation states
The Strategy Support Officer will provide vital assistance to the Public Health Specialist, University of Manitoba (UM) and India Health Action Trust (IHAT) and other relevant team members in driving the coordination required for program management, monitoring, and strategic communication between UM, IHAT, and other partners as required. The Officer will support in developing routine project updates including narrative reports and power point presentations by critically analyzing available data and information. The officer will develop and manage key project timelines and ensure necessary follow-ups required for timely delivery of project deliverables under the Reproductive Maternal New born, Child Health and Nutrition domains. The position is expected to liaise between the project teams, funders and the other partners.
The individual needs to be organized, skilled and competent to play the above role. In addition to this, the Officer will facilitate effective communication between the Project Directors of UP program, UM leadership, and funders.
