India Health Action Trust was instituted in 2003 as a Charitable Trust with a vision to meaningfully impact the lives of vulnerable and marginalised people by addressing health and social inequities. Our work is focused in areas of prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. We use program science to optimise and scale public health programs while partnering with the governments and communities.

Job Summary :

Senior Specialist- Tuberculosis (TB) & Infectious Disease (ID) will be driving the TB & ID related initiatives/ activities under the guidance of the Senior Technical Advisor / State Program Lead and will work closely with State TB officer (NHM), Project Director/ Deputy Directors of Madhya Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (MPSASC) and other government officials of the National Health Mission (NHM) and Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP). S/he will promote use of standards of TB care in India (STCI) and assist in development of additional tools and enablers for effective involvement of all care providers and stakeholder in National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).The position requires travel within and outside the state.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote use of Standards of TB Care in India (STCI) in the state and assist in the development of additional tools and enablers for effective involvement of all care providers and stakeholders in NTEP at State.
  • Develop training modules and programs to rollout training on TB .
  • Design, implement and evaluate pathways to optimize TB diagnosis & treatment adherence.
  • Develop protocols for implementation or operations research with other team members.
  • Assist State in development, piloting and the scale-up of operational models of Public Private Partnership in NTEP.
  • Coordination with Medical Colleges, NGOs, Private practitioner, professional medical associations, corporate sector care and public sector care providers outside the Health Department for training, continuing medical education and mentoring.
  • Provide Technical assistance (TA) to State for the timely and complete reporting from various public private partnership projects. Also facilitate the compilation and analysis of relevant reports at the State level.
  • Provide TA to the State for monitoring and evaluation of public private collaborative activities under NTEP in the State.
  • Undertake any other activities as assigned by State in the interest of NTEP /TB Elimination in the State.”
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in the infectious diseases including TB
  • Experience in working with government data systems such as HMIS/MCTS, RCH, etc.,
Education:
  • Master’s degree in Public Health/Preventive & Social medicine or any other related field.
Key Competencies:

Conceptual and Analytical Skills:

  • Excellent technical knowledge in Infectious disease including TB. Familiar with the organization and functions of the state and local public health systems.
  • Work independently on complex projects and proactively manage project with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in strengthening the programmatic capacity of an organization, particularly in infectious disease.
  • Experience in developing innovative proposal will be added advantage.

Leadership and Management:

  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial experience, preferably in a government setting.
  • Experience building relationships and working with multi-disciplinary state and division level teams, Government officials and external partners.

Communication Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation, persuasive ability, and report writing.
  • Capacity to deliver complex messages to various audiences.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, analyze, innovate, plan and execute ideas.
