The Madhya Pradesh Innovation Hub (MPIH) was instituted in 2019 pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding between National Health Mission, Government of Madhya Pradesh (NHM MP) and India Health Action Trust (IHAT). The hub identifies health challenges and designs interventions to improve population health outcomes in the state pertaining to Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH), Tuberculosis, HIV / AIDS, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) and health system strengthening.

The innovation hub activities are based on program science framework that uses adaptive responses to enable public health programs to continuously and systematically examine processes, outputs and outcomes, explore areas that required further understanding, implement and evaluate new interventions and then use the knowledge gained to further re-design and develop programs and/or conduct further embedded research. The hub works closely with the Government of Madhya Pradesh to identify public health priorities in the state and provides research support in answering questions emerging from the field in relation to identified priorities. It supports the government in testing novel ideas and interventions while also supporting and translating global and national best practices into action-plans for the state.
