About IHAT:

India Health Action Trust was instituted in 2003 as a Charitable Trust with a vision to meaningfully impact the lives of vulnerable and marginalised people by addressing health and social inequities. The Trust is working towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programmes to improve population health. Since its inception, IHAT has been working closely with the Government of India and state governments, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Delhi  to achieve public health goals. Our work is focused in areas of prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. We use program science to optimise and scale public health programs while partnering with the governments and communities.

Job Summary :

Program associate will support state head in creating project reports & briefs for governments, donors and senior leadership as requested. Associate may attend various government review meetings at state, division, district to ensure that program achievements and challenges are adequately documented and highlighted. In coordination with M&E teams to support in establish processes to collect and analyse program data to monitor program progress; validate data and identify areas for strengthening.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Under the guidance of the State head, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the overall program is being implemented as per proposed project plan.
  • Establish strong partnerships with other development partners to identify synergies for improving service delivery of MNCH service in the district (s).
  • Attend Monthly review of the district team; review program indicators; ensure adherence to program plan; support district team to overcome challenges where necessary
  • Conduct field visits to facilities and communities to monitor the work of various district staff members; provide mentoring to plug gaps if any.
  • Build capacity of Nurse Mentors/Front Line workers to monitor the progress and ensure that all requisite documentation is being completed.
  • Support in proposal documents in Hindi/English, policy analysis presentations and draft relevant government orders in Hindi as required
  • Any other work assigned by the line manager.
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in the areas of Maternal & Child Health.
  • Experience of working with government and international organizations/bilateral agencies.
Education:

Medical / Para Medical graduate (AYUSH/BPT/BOT/BSc Nursing/BPharma) with post-graduate degree in public health / Masters in Public Health/Health Administration or Hospital Management.

Conceptual and Analytical Skills:

  • Experience in activity planning & monitoring processes for organizations.
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural, teamwork skills and ability to foresee issues and initiate appropriate action.
  • Strengthening the programmatic capacity of an organization, particularly in facility interventions and systems development.

Leadership and Management:

  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in building relationships and working with multi-disciplinary state and division level teams, Government officials and external partners.

Communication Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation, persuasive ability, and report writing in English and Hindi.
  • Capacity to deliver complex messages to various audiences.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, analyze, innovate, plan and execute ideas.
