India Health Action Trust (IHAT) works towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programs to improve population health. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals, IHAT works closely with the Government of India and state governments to achieve public health goals. IHAT’s work is focused in areas of prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems.
IHAT has set up multiple Technical Support Units (TSU) and an Innovation Hub to provide techno-managerial assistance and coordinate with the Governments, Non-Government Agencies, Academic Institutions and Communities.

In alignment with the IHAT’s vision to reduce inequity in public health outcomes, the key portfolio include: a) advancing the Program Science approach, b) applying the Effective Coverage in measurements of outcomes and c) focusing on person-centred, gender-sensitive continuum of care. In this respect, the responsibilities include working with the Governments, and academic and non-academic institutions to formulate key strategic/priority programmatic questions and generate insights. Further, the role involves formulating key evidence based strategic direction to the programs in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and other geographies with in-depth analyses in priority areas that are defined from time to time.
