About IHAT:

India Health Action Trust (IHAT) works towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programs to improve population health. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals, IHAT works closely with the Government of India and state governments to achieve public health goals. IHAT’s work is focused in areas of prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems.

About Program:

IHAT has set up multiple Technical Support Units (TSU) and an Innovation Hub to provide techno-managerial assistance and coordinate with the Governments, Non-Government Agencies, Academic Institutions and Communities.

Job Summary :

In alignment with the IHAT’s vision to reduce inequity in public health outcomes, the key portfolio include: a) advancing the Program Science approach, b) applying the Effective Coverage in measurements of outcomes and c) focusing on person-centred, gender-sensitive continuum of care. In this respect, the responsibilities include working with the Governments, and academic and non-academic institutions to formulate key strategic/priority programmatic questions and generate insights. Further, the role involves formulating key evidence based strategic direction to the programs in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and other geographies with in-depth analyses in priority areas that are defined from time to time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate key strategic questions to provide direction to the program implementation
  • Support programs in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and other geographies with in-depth analyses in priority areas that are defined from time to time.
  • Conduct detailed analysis to address the identified strategic questions and to generate key programmatic insights using primary data (internal concurrent monitoring survey, program monitoring data and government data (HMIS) and secondary data sources.
  • Generate key programmatic insights through strategic analysis that helps programs to strengthen service delivery in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (RMNCHN)
  • Conduct advance analysis of different data such as community and facility based survey, program monitoring and government data
  • Conduct statistical modelling and geo-spatial analysis to understand the effect of program activities on result
  • Establish a quick mechanism of feeding the learnings from research to improve program performance;
  • Lead the process of synthesizing the empirical findings
  • Support the process of peer-reviewed scientific writing and other types of publications.
  • Contribute to the development of idea notes on future priority themes
  • Develop technical notes and infographics from the evidence generated through program-based research.
Work Experience:
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience with least 3 years of experience in a similar type of work
  • Experienced in analysing large and complex data
  • Experienced in scientific writing and publication in the peer-reviewed journal
Education:
  • Ph.D./ M.Phil /Post graduate in Demography / Population studies/ Statistics / Economics/ Mathematics/ Public health and other relevant fields from institute of repute.
Key Competencies:
  • Competency and Technical Skills:
  • Complete hands on skill in handling different data, including survey data, program monitoring data and other relevant data available.
  • Able to design and implement different types of sample surveys.
  • Able to conceptualize analyses framework using different government data sources.
  • Proficient in advanced statistical methods and data analysis using statistical software (preferably STATA) and able to conduct GIS based analysis using Q-GIS and MS Excel advanced analysis.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in process documentation in English.
  • Fluency in English and knowledge of Hindi essential

  • The person needs to work with Government India, State Governments as required and coordinate with IHAT programs/Research teams.
  • Strong networking skill with multiple stakeholders
  • Attitude towards learning and bringing new ideas & solutions
  • Able to work in high pressure situations
