About IHAT:

IHAT was instituted in 2003 and our vision is to meaningfully impact the lives of vulnerable and marginalised people by addressing health and social inequities. The Trust is working towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programmes to improve population health. Since its inception, IHAT has working closely with the Government of India and state governments, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Delhi and Bihar to achieve public health goals. Our work is focused in areas of prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. We use program science to optimise and scale public health programs while partnering with the governments and communities.

Job Summary :

The Associate will support IHAT in advancing organizational priorities and strengthening programmatic delivery across thematic areas. This includes support to the line manager and senior leadership in planning, coordination and execution of activities of institutional significance and for programmes/projects, tracking of team work plans, resource compilation, documentation, and facilitation of internal engagements across various verticals.

This position is suited for individuals interested in contributing to large-scale public health efforts and gaining exposure to a range of thematic areas, including tribal health, RMNCH, and system strengthening. It offers a unique opportunity to engage with complex public health systems, support multi-stakeholder coordination, and contribute to knowledge and learning initiatives within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Programmatic and Technical Support
  • Consolidate annual and monthly workplans across teams/projects and track progress against deliverables.
  • Organise and support monthly review meetings, help identify progress and bottlenecks.
  • Assist in preparing structured field visit calendars, visit checklists, and planning tools for enhanced team efficiency.
  • Facilitate coordination and rollout of cross-project initiatives and thematic activities.
  • Assist senior leadership with travel planning, including logistical documentation and scheduling.
  • Support the creation and dissemination of tools and materials aligned with programmatic and organisational goals.
  • Engage in the development of annual reports, knowledge products and coordinate with programme teams for required information.
  1. Research, Documentation, and Reporting
  • Compile and maintain updated Government of India and state-level guidelines for team reference.
  • Curate a repository of relevant online learning materials, videos, and courses to support field staff development.
  • Support the preparation of project reports, decks and other content for internal reviews, donor meetings and external presentations.
  • Capture implementation insights and field learnings through case studies, briefs, and documentation.
  1. Learning and Performance Tracking
  • Develop and maintain digital leaderboards to monitor field staff participation in learning and performance benchmarks.
  • Assist in organising periodic learning sessions and internal knowledge exchanges.
  • Track engagement in learning activities and training activities and coordinate follow-ups with team leads.
  • Support donor mapping efforts by researching potential donors and documenting profiles, thematic focus areas and priorities.
  1. Strategic and Cross Functional Support
  • Integrate field-level insights and data into concept notes, grant proposals, and strategic planning documents.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by the Directors or senior leadership in line with project needs.
Work Experience:
  • 2–5 years of relevant work experience in public health, development projects, or field-level program implementation. Prior experience with a consulting organization or large-scale non-profit project will be an added advantage.
  • Experience supporting multi-stakeholder programs or senior leadership coordination is desirable.
  • Understanding of government health, education, or rural development programs is a plus.
Education:

Master’s degree in public health, development studies, social sciences, or a related field.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with dashboarding or tracking tools (e.g., MS Planner, Google Sheets, Trello, Airtable) for performance monitoring.
  • Initiative and Learning Orientation: Self-motivated and adaptive; able to work independently while engaging with diverse thematic areas and evolving program needs.
  • Ethics and Professionalism: Demonstrated alignment with IHAT’s values, safeguarding principles, and a high standard of integrity and accountability.
