India Health Action Trust (IHAT) was established in 2003 as a Charitable Trust with a vision to meaningfully impact the lives of vulnerable and marginalized people by addressing health and social inequities. IHAT focuses on reducing these inequities by developing comprehensive, sustainable programs to improve population health. Since its inception, IHAT has closely collaborated with the Government of India and state governments—including Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Bihar—to achieve critical public health goals. Our work emphasizes prevention and control of HIV and tuberculosis, advancing Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health (RMNCH) outcomes, improving maternal and child nutrition, and strengthening health systems. Through program science, we optimize and scale public health programs, partnering with governments and communities.
The State Technical Support Unit TB (STSU – TB) in Uttar Pradesh was set up in 2022 to support the State’s management of private sector engagement, strategic purchasing, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and multi-sectoral collaboration in order to enhance TB prevention, detection and treatment outcomes.
STSU – TB works closely with the Central TB Division and National Technical Support Unit. IHAT is also implementing Gates Foundation supported Diagnostic Network Optimization project since Dec 2023. Key mandate is to provide technical support to state for the optimization of NAAT machines and also to field tests newer point of care diagnostics, to enhance WHO recommended molecular diagnosis as initial test for TB diagnosis. More recently in Nov 2025, IHAT also been awarded integration of TB in Primary Health Care project supported by Gates
India Health Action Trust (IHAT) is expanding its Diagnostic Network Optimization in the state of Maharashtra. The key purpose of this initiative to optimize existing NAAT machine utilization and to enhance molecular diagnosis for the TB diagnosis. In order to implement, IHAT is putting four members team in the state of Maharashtra. These position requires extensive travel within the state in intervention geographies. The team work closely in collaboration with state TB Officer and NHM under the guidance IHAT.

The Key purpose of this role is to provide technical expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and data management, ensuring that program data is complete, valid, and utilized effectively for program improvement, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making. The person shall co-ordinate with all 75 districts with the support of Specialist Public Health Expert compile and generate NAAT testing, X Ray Screening Data, Lab data and generate presumptive TB examination rate district and also at the state level. The person also come out with innovative district map showing all diagnostic sites and public health facilities using advance excel skills. The person also has to develop research protocols and also support in writing papers for the publications.
