About IHAT:

India Health Action Trust was instituted in 2003 as a Charitable Trust with a vision to meaningfully impact the lives of vulnerable and marginalised people by addressing health and social inequities. The Trust is working towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programmes to improve population health. Since its inception, IHAT has working closely with the Government of India and state governments, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Bihar to achieve public health goals. Our work is focused in areas of prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. We use program science to optimise and scale public health programs while partnering with the governments and communities

About Program:

The Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit (UPTSU) provides integrated Technical Assistance (TA) to the government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP), which focuses on accelerating progress in reproductive, maternal, new-born and child health, and nutrition (RMNCHN). UPTSU works closely with the GoUP at the state, district and local levels to optimize RMNCHN programs and services. The technical assistance provided by UPTSU is integrated within the GoUP’s health system response for scale-up and sustainability. UPTSU focuses on interventions to improve outcomes in Family Planning, Maternal and New-born Health, and Nutrition, along with Routine Immunization, Digital Health, and other initiatives.

Job Summary :

IHAT is seeking a creative and skilled Specialist-SBCC to support the development of high-quality communication materials in English and Hindi. The role will focus on creating engaging, accurate, and audience-appropriate IEC/BCC/SBCC content, with a strong preference for candidates having experience in TB programs and digital creative writing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop SBC strategy to improve key behaviors on Health
  • Develop creatives and impactful IEC/BCC/SBCC content in Hindi and English for print, digital, and social media platforms.
  • Development of creative materials such as scripts for audio-visual materials, Audio spots, slogans, posters, leaflets, brochures, social media posts, reels, videos, audio-spots, and digital campaign creatives for various target audiences.
  • Translate and adapt technical public health information into simple, relatable, and culturally appropriate language.
  • Coordinate with field teams to capture “Success Stories” and “Human Interest Stories” that highlight the impact of IHAT’s interventions.
  • Work closely with program teams to ensure accuracy, alignment with national guidelines, and program priorities.
  • Assist in developing campaign themes and messaging aligned with national health programs. Support in the documentation of NHM’s monthly newsletters.
  • Support innovative storytelling approaches for health communication. Support in TB communication initiatives.
  • Revise content based on feedback from internal teams, government stakeholders, and partners. Also, proofread and edit the documents.
  • Maintain content repositories and documentation of SBC materials developed.

Key Inputs expected from the Job Role

  • High-quality creative BCC content in English and Hindi aligned with program objectives
  • Concept notes, creative briefs, campaign designing for health communication initiatives
  • Creatives including scripts, social media posts, short videos, reels, radio spots, and WhatsApp creatives
  • Simplified, audience-friendly versions of technical public health information and guidelines
  • Content adapted for diverse audiences including communities, frontline workers, and stakeholders
  • High-quality documentation- technical and communication writing

  • Support other team members as and when required
  • Support in developing content for quarterly newsletter-PAHAL
Work Experience:

Essential experience

  • 5-7 years’ experience in IEC/BCC/SBCC content development and implementing of Social Behavior Change Communication activities in the development sector
  • Proven experience in digital creative writing and content creation in Hindi and English both

Preferred experience

  • Experience of working in TB program domain will be preferred
Education:

Required Qualification

  • Master’s/PG Diploma in Social Sciences/Mass communication/Development communication/ Journalism/social Sciences or equivalent qualification.
