About IHAT:

India Health Action Trust was instituted in 2003 as a Charitable Trust with a vision to meaningfully impact the lives of vulnerable and marginalised people by addressing health and social inequities. The Trust is working towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programmes to improve population health. Since its inception, IHAT has working closely with the Government of India and state governments, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Bihar to achieve public health goals. Our work is focused in areas of prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. We use program science to optimise and scale public health programs while partnering with the governments and communities.

About Program:

The Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit (UPTSU) provides integrated Technical Assistance (TA) to the government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP), which focuses on accelerating progress in reproductive, maternal, new-born and child health, and nutrition (RMNCHN). UPTSU works closely with the GoUP at the state, district and local levels to optimize RMNCHN programs and services. The technical assistance provided by UPTSU is integrated within the GoUP’s health system response for scale-up and sustainability. UPTSU focuses on interventions to improve outcomes in Family Planning, Maternal and New-born Health, and Nutrition, along with Routine Immunization, Digital Health, and other initiatives.

Job Summary :

The Data Science Centre at KGMU serves as a multidisciplinary hub dedicated to transforming  health data into actionable insights to improve patient outcomes, advance data-driven research, and assist policy decisions at the institutional and state level.

The role holder would apply advanced statistical methods to analyze healthcare and research data and develop predictive models for clinical and operational decision-making

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, analyze, and interpret data using a wide range of statistical methods and applicable software.
  • Review study plans, including randomization, sample size calculation, and analysis, as well as reports for internal or external studies (e.g., statistical review of SPRs, technical reports, presentations)
  • Identify and develop methodologies, strategies, findings in reports and slide decks.
  • Develop and execute statistical analysis plans (SAP) for clinical trial data using STATA, R, SAS, or any other statistical software.
  • Provide writing support for publications based on statistical analyses.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including preparing detailed technical reports on the analyses performed.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and the internal project team to ensure smooth and timely project execution.
  • Knowledge dissemination responsibilities include effectively communicating complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, sharing insights through presentations, reports, paper publications, and visualizations, and mentoring junior team members

 

Work Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in statistical analysis (STATA/SPSS/R)
  • Proven experience in health analytics or related public health data analysis is mandatory
  • Experience in public health and outcomes research
Education:
  • Master’s/PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Epidemiology (mandatory)
Key Competencies:
  • Proficiency in STATA is mandatory.
  • Expertise in regression, ANOVA, ,bi-variate, multi-variate, and multi-level analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical trial design, protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to interpret complex data for non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Data Visualization and effectively communicating results through visual means.
  • Experience preparing clear, accessible technical reports and documentation
