About IHAT:

India Health Action Trust (IHAT) works towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programs to improve population health. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals, IHAT works closely with the Government of India and state governments to achieve public health goals. IHAT’s work focuses on prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. IHAT has also set up Technical Support Units (TSU) and Innovation Hub to provide techno-managerial assistance and to coordinate with the Governments, Non-Government Agencies, Academic Institutions and Communities.

About Program:

The Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit (UPTSU) provides integrated Technical Assistance (TA) to the government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP), which focuses on accelerating progress in reproductive, maternal, new-born and child health, and nutrition (RMNCHN). UPTSU works closely with the GoUP at the state, district and local levels to optimize RMNCHN programs and services. The technical assistance provided by UPTSU is integrated within the GoUP’s health system response for scale-up and sustainability. UPTSU focuses on interventions to improve outcomes in Family Planning, Maternal and New-born Health, and Nutrition, along with Routine Immunization, Digital Health, and other initiatives.

Job Summary :

The Block Coordinator-TB Integration are established as time-bound, field-embedded support units to identify, analyze, and resolve critical gaps across the tuberculosis care cascade within Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) platforms. The RRTs will enable rapid problem-solving, capacity building, and course correction through data-driven reviews and frontline mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Data Review and Gap Identification
  • Analyze data from Nikshay, HMIS, and AAM registers, along with frontline discussions, to identify gaps in Tuberculosis screening, testing, treatment, follow-up, contact tracing, and Tuberculosis preventive therapy (TPT).
  • Triangulate routine data with field observations and feedback from CHO, ANM, and ASHA teams.
  1. Rapid Problem Solving
  • Facilitate root cause analysis during routine review platforms.
  • Design, test, and refine low-cost corrective actions using Plan–Do–Study–Act (PDSA) cycles.
  • Support implementation and short-cycle tracking of agreed actions.
  1. Capacity Building and Mentorship
  • Provide on-the-job mentoring and micro-trainings to CHOs, ANMs, ASHAs, and block teams
  • Tuberculosis screening, referral, treatment support, and contact tracing.
  • Facilitate peer learning across AAMs and blocks by sharing effective practices.
  1. Monitoring and Documentation
  • Support development and use of AAM/block-level Tuberculosis dashboards covering screening, diagnosis, treatment initiation, adherence, outcomes, and TPT.
  • Document successful practices, innovations, and scalable models.
  1. Community Engagement
  • Integrate Tuberculosis discussions into Jan Arogya Samiti (JAS) meetings to improve awareness, reduce stigma, and promote social support.
  • Support Patient Support Groups (PSGs) and community platforms to improve adherence and treatment completion.
  1. Platforms for Engagement
  • AA+C Meetings (Monthly, AAM level): Joint review, gap analysis, and solution testing.
  • Cluster Meetings (Block level): ASHA-led issue identification and knowledge strengthening.
  • CHO Meetings (Monthly, Block level: Performance review and scaling of best practices.
  • ASHA Sangini Field Visits: On-site mentoring and operational troubleshooting.
  1. Coordination and Reporting
  • RRTs will work in coordination with BCPM, and Medical Officers.
  • Support in drafting action-oriented reports, highlighting gaps identified, actions taken, and early results.
Work Experience:
  • At least 4 years of experience in any of the CPHC RMNCHA, nutrition and Tuberculosis
Education:
  • Candidates must be graduates in any field.
  • Postgraduate degree in social work/social sciences will be preferred
  • Knowledge in use of digital applications will be preferred
Key Competencies:
  • In-depth understanding of CPHC concepts and the Indian primary healthcare system
  • Knowledge of latest GoI CPHC, RMNCH+A, ID and NCD guidelines
  • Familiarity with the operationalization process of Health and Wellness Centres
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with government officials and other stakeholders
  • Analytical skills and proficiency in data interpretation
  • Experience in capacity building and providing technical assistance
  • Proficiency in using MS Office and various health program-related IT applications
