Dr. Sanjiv Kumar

Sanjiv Kumar is a Public health professional, with more than 10 years of  programmatic, technical and management experience in IHAT. He possesses significant technical expertise in Health and Nutrition programs, design of training curricula, monitoring and evaluation and health services research. Dr Sanjiv has more than 10 years of experience in providing technical support in the field of health and nutrition. He has been associated with UNICEF as divisional Health and nutrition consultant for 5 years and provided technical support to GOUP in the field of Child health including Immunization, maternal health, Newborn health, Nutrition and sanitation. He also worked with Save the children in 2 different project, MCHIP in UP and Ananya (IFHI) in Bihar as a newborn specialist and provided technical support in implementation of facility and community based newborn care. He has prior work experience in various institutions like SAVE THE CHILDREN, IPE-UNICEF, USAID/MCHIP, ILEP, and ICMR. At present Dr Sanjiv is leading the technical team in RMNCH+A project in TSU, Uttar Pradesh. The role of the technical team at TSU is to support GOUP to improve the availability of RMNCHA services and also to improve quality of services through dedicated cadre of Nurse Mentors at blocks level and with medical team at district, Zone and at state level. This medical team leads in designing training module, job aids and tool and also support nurse mentors to improve the clinical competencies of health care providers with special focus on GOI prioritized 25 RMNCH+A interventions (based on 5X5 Matrix). He also coordinate with community team, M&E team and strategic planning team to improve the overall goals and objectives of TSU in RMNCH+A program. is Medical post graduate with MBBS from Mysore Medical College and MD from King George’s medical University, Lucknow in 2004. He is a national trainer on Basic and Advanced neonatal resuscitation training (awarded by Indian Academy of pediatrician and American academy of pediatrician), IMNCI, F-IMNCI, NSSK and routine Immunization strengthening. He is culturally sensitive, adaptable, fast learner, interested in developing solutions, can work well independently or as a part of team
