Reynold Washington is a community health specialist with over two decades of teaching, programmatic and research experience. His areas of interest include HIV, TB, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health. Presently, he is serving as Senior Technical Specialist, Health Systems and Services (HIV/AIDS & TB), IHAT. He is recognised for his leadership in scaling up HIV prevention and care services, training systems and research across Karnataka and other states in India, for pioneering innovations that significantly contributed to the national programme and public policy, and for translating knowledge to post-graduate students, programme implementers, policy makers and donors within India and in several countries in Africa and Asia. He is a technical resource member for the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), and the Karnataka State TB Operations Research Committee. He completed his MBBS, MD in Community Health, and DNB (Social and Preventive Medicine) at St John’s Medical College in Bangalore. He has several publications in peer-reviewed journals to his credit.
