Arup Kumar Das, Team leader, Monitoring & Evaluation, Uttar Pradesh, Technical Support Unit (UPTSU) is working in UPTSU since the time of inception, 2013. Dr Das is a trained demographer from International Institute of Population sciences, Mumbai, India and also completed training on “Global public health and infectious diseases” from Canadian Health Institute for Research, University of Manitoba, Canada. He has more than 10 years of experience in design and implementation of M&E system. Dr Das has implemented M&E system for HIV/AIDS and MNCH projects across north and south Indian states. Dr Das was Principle Investigator for different large scale surveys, operation research and cluster randomised control trials (CRCTs). In his current profile he is engaged in strengthening data & review system of Government of Uttar Pradesh and setting up new systems such as concurrent monitoring system, which includes surveys and data generated from different job aids used by front line workers and service providers. One of his major focus work in progress is strengthening survey system of the state. He has substantially contributed in setting up 18 divisional M&E hub covering all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, through which all state level health surveys will be implemented in the state.
